What is the Cattewater Dog Puppet Project?
We are a community based arts group specialising in puppet making. All our workshops are based around the theme of the Cattewater shipwreck, which is situated in Cattewater Harbour near the Barbican, Plymouth. Sunk in the early 16th Century, the only know casualty of the wreck was the ship's dog, the bones of which can be found in a collection of artifacts at Plymouth Museum. We use the character of the dog to explore different historical, cultural and creative themes through the art of puppet making.
